The process begins with a phone consult where we learn a little about your project needs, confirm you're in our work area, and request a few pictures if you have them. We'll next determine if we've remodeled kitchens similar to yours and off high-level budget guidance if we have it from previous projects. If your budget and our guidance align, next comes an in-home meeting where we discuss your project goals, style preferences, and budget. This is an opportunity to share your vision for your kitchen—whether it’s upgrading to modern finishes, improving layout and functionality, or creating an open-concept design. We’ll provide honest feedback about the value of your planned project and suggest any cost-saving or value-adding options to consider. By the end of this meeting, we’ll have a solid understanding of your needs and priorities.
Once the scope and preliminary budget are established, we’ll create initial design drawings for your review in our showroom with the design staff. These drawings help you visualize your new kitchen and allow us to refine details before moving forward. The fun starts at this meeting, as you'll make preliminary choices for cabinets, flooring, countertops, etc. From this design meeting, we’ll prepare a detailed cost estimate, breaking down every element of the project—from cabinetry and countertops to lighting and flooring. After you approve the design and estimate, we’ll present a formal proposal. This plain-language contract will include detailed project specifications, relevant drawings, and a timeline for completion. It will also list any materials you’ll need to select, such as backsplash tiles, plumbing fixtures, or appliances, and outline allowances included in the budget. For convenience, Armstrong Interiors exclusively uses electronic documentation, allowing you to review, approve, and sign the proposal digitally. You’ll also receive access to our customer portal, where you can track project progress, invoices, and any changes.
Before construction begins, our Production Manager will visit your home to assess site conditions, confirm the plan to establish the design intent, and prepare for any necessary permits. During this phase, we’ll guide you through any remaining selections, order all materials needed, and ensure everything is ready to begin on schedule. You’ll also receive an insurance certificate for peace of mind, and we’ll take care of securing any necessary permits.
The construction phase starts with an on-site meeting where you’ll meet the Field Manager and Lead Carpenter assigned to your project. Together, we’ll discuss access, expectations, and daily routines to minimize disruptions during the remodel. As work progresses, we’ll maintain continuous communication, sharing daily updates, photos, and a working schedule via our customer portal. This ensures you’re always informed about the project’s status, even if you’re away.
To maintain a clean and respectful environment, we’ll provide a portable restroom for our team’s use during the project. Our skilled craftsmen and trusted subcontractors work diligently to ensure every aspect of your remodel meets our high standards of quality.
As your kitchen remodel nears completion, we’ll schedule any necessary final inspections and apply for any required Certificates of Approval. After inspections are completed, you’ll receive an electronic copy of the documentation for your records.
